Key Features
- 110 micron (0.11 mm / 4.3 mil) barrier strength
- Protects contents from light, moisture and oxygen
- BPA-free and food-safe
- Pack of 50 Mylar Bags
- Resealable zip closure

Ideal for storing dry foods such as flour, oats, jerky, noodles, rice and coffee. Also suitable for non-food items including documents, jewellery, photographs and spare parts.
Why Use Mylar Bags
- Strong and tear-resistant
- Flexible and collapsible as oxygen is removed
- Non-porous barrier for extended shelf life
- Cost-effective for home or commercial use
Pair with Oxygen Absorbers
- Add absorbers before sealing to prevent spoilage.
- Absorbers remove the oxygen portion of air (approx. 20%).
- Bags may deflate slightly — this is normal.
- A vacuum sealer is required for a true vacuum finish.
- Use our online calculator to choose the correct absorber size.
How to Seal Mylar Bags
- Fill the bag, leaving 10–12 cm at the top.
- Add oxygen absorbers.
- Press out excess air.
- Seal using one of the following methods:
- Vacuum Sealer: Use the sealing function; vacuuming is optional when using absorbers.
- Impulse Sealer: Fast, efficient sealing option.
- Hair Straightener / Iron: Use highest heat, seal for 2–4 seconds, then repeat if needed.
Note: Heat sealing traps air. Oxygen absorbers remove only the oxygen portion. A vacuum sealer is required for complete air removal.
What Can Be Stored
Best suited for long-term storage of dry, low-fat foods:
- Flour, rice, grains and pasta
- Dehydrated fruits and vegetables
- Dried beans, cereals and powdered milk
- Herbs, spices and baking ingredients
High-moisture or high-fat foods should be rotated more frequently. Refer to our Mylar Storage Guide for recommended storage times.

You can seal a 30×40cm Mylar Bag using an impulse sealer, vacuum sealer (seal mode), or a high-heat household iron or hair straightener.
What types of food can I store in a 30×40cm Mylar Bag?
Dry foods such as flour, oats, rice, grains, pasta, beans, powdered milk, herbs, and dehydrated fruits or vegetables are ideal for a 30×40cm Mylar Bag.
How long will food last in a 30×40cm Mylar Bag?
When paired with the right oxygen absorbers, food in a 30×40cm Mylar Bag can last 5–20 years, depending on food type and storage conditions.
What is a 30×40cm Mylar Bag used for?
A 30×40cm Mylar Bag is used for storing larger volumes of food or bulk non-food items, offering excellent protection from oxygen, moisture, and light.
How many oxygen absorbers will I need for a 30×40cm Mylar Bag?
The number of oxygen absorbers required for a 30×40cm Mylar Bag depends on the
void volume
of your package: • The volume of the sealed package • The volume occupied by the food product. The calculation isolates the packaging void (sealed package volume minus food weight) multiplied by 20% — as air is approximately 20% oxygen. Formula lovers can use the calculation directly, but for a shortcut, try our online Oxygen Absorber Calculator to instantly determine the right amount.
