Mylar Bag 30 x 40cm & 500cc Oxygen Absorber Bundle
This bundle provides a complete long-term storage solution. Oxygen absorbers remove oxygen inside sealed Mylar Bags, helping extend shelf life, protect flavour and colour, and prevent mould or spoilage.
500cc Oxygen Absorbers
500cc Oxygen Absorbers are designed to remove oxygen from sealed packaging, helping extend shelf life, preserve flavour and colour, and prevent mould or spoilage. Ideal for use in Mylar Bags for long-term food storage.
Usage
- Use immediately after opening—do not expose to air for more than 60 minutes.
- Store unopened sachets at room temperature (5°C–30°C) and keep out of direct sunlight.
- Main ingredients: Iron powder, activated carbon, salt, diatomite, water.
- Packaging: PET/EVA/Paper/PE (oil-proof multilayer film).
Note: Oxygen absorbers do not create a vacuum. They remove the oxygen portion of air (around 20%), while nitrogen remains. Bags may deflate slightly, which is normal.

Using Oxygen Absorbers with Mylar Bags
Add the correct number of oxygen absorbers before sealing to remove oxygen inside the bag. This helps prevent flavour changes, discolouration, mould and spoilage.
Use our online calculator to determine how many absorbers your bag size requires. If the bag will be opened and resealed, add extra absorbers to account for new air entering each time.
How to Seal Mylar Bags
- Fill the bag, leaving 10–12 cm of space at the top
- Add oxygen absorbers
- Press out excess air and heat seal
Sealing options:
- Vacuum sealer: Use the seal function only (vacuum optional)
- Impulse sealer: Fast and reliable commercial option
- Hair straightener or iron: Use high heat, sealing for 2–4 seconds; repeat for a strong seal
Note: Heat sealing traps air. Oxygen absorbers remove only the oxygen—not nitrogen—so the bag will not become fully vacuum-tight. A vacuum sealer is required for total air removal.
What You Can Store
Best suited for dry, low-fat foods such as:
- Flour, rice, grains, pasta
- Dehydrated fruit and vegetables
- Dried beans, cereals, powdered milk
- Herbs and spices
Higher-moisture or higher-fat foods can also be stored but should be rotated more frequently.
Our Mylar Bags have a very low Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR), making them highly effective for long-term preservation.

Fill the 30×40cm Mylar Bag, add the 500cc Oxygen Absorber, press out excess air, and seal using a vacuum sealer, impulse sealer, or household iron/hair straightener on high heat for 2–4 seconds.
Will the 30×40cm Mylar Bag from the 500cc Oxygen Absorber Bundle become vacuum-packed?
No. The 500cc Oxygen Absorber in the 30×40cm Mylar Bag + 500cc Oxygen Absorber Bundle removes oxygen, not nitrogen, so the bag will deflate slightly but won’t be fully rigid like a vacuum seal.
How should I store unused 500cc Oxygen Absorbers from the 30×40cm Mylar Bag Bundle?
Keep unused 500cc Oxygen Absorbers from the 30×40cm Mylar Bag + 500cc Oxygen Absorber Bundle in an airtight glass jar with a gasketed lid or in their original sealed packaging, away from heat and sunlight. Reseal within 30 minutes of opening.
