Absorbag Shipping Container Desiccant
1.5 kg Absorbag Shipping Container Desiccant is one of Absortech’s original shipping desiccants, it is used to protect cargo during shipping and storage from damage caused by humidity problems. Like the Absorpole, the Absorbag is designed to sit in the corrugated recesses of the container wall but does not contain the rigid casing.
It is ideally suited for shipping containers that allow free space between the exported cargo and container walls. The Absorbag’s active ingredient is calcium chloride, which has the proven ability of aggressively removing moisture from the air and can absorb up to 150% of its weight in moisture.
How Absorbag works
Absorbag Shipping Container Desiccant is activated once it is removed from its plastic sleeve. The calcium chloride, at the top of the bag, immediately starts to absorb moisture from the surrounding air.
The desiccant material gradually dissolves into brine which is captured in a separate collector. Once captured, the moisture will not re-evaporate into the air.
