Description
100cc Oxygen Absorbers
Usage
The oxygen absorbers should be used as soon as possible once opened the package and cannot be exposed in the air for more than 60 minutes. Otherwise the sachets will lose the absorbing capacity before usage.
Ensure that the sachets are stored at room temperature (5 °C to 30 °C) in their sealed package before usage. The sachets should not be exposed to direct sunlight.
Main ingredients (iron based)
Iron powder, active carbon powder, salt, diatomite granule and water.
Oil proof packaging material: PET/EVA/PAPER/PE
Note: Oxygen Absorbers do not create a vacuum. Oxygen Absorbers trap oxygen from the surrounding air. Air comprises 20% oxygen and 80% nitrogen. As a result, the use of oxygen absorbers will not create the appearance of a vacuum seal. This is a different process.
Stand Up Pouch features include:
- Transparent window allows contents to be visible and ideal for display
- 100 micron (0.1mm) thickness (or 3.9 mil) is thick enough for storage but pliable enough to be safe to handle and conform to the bag’s contents
- Pack of 50 Stand Up Pouches
- Base allows pouches to stand up for ease of filling and display purposes
- Resealable mechanism provides convenience for packing, and for when items are in use
- Tear notch allowing easy access to contents
- Able to withstand hot liquids up to 120*C, allowing boiling water to be added to powder/dehydrated meals
Use with Oxygen Absorbers
Before sealing your Pouch, it is important to add oxygen absorbers to the contents of the bag. Oxygen Absorbers or scavengers remove the oxygen from the void of the Pouch.
Removing oxygen from the Pouch extends the shelf life of the contents. Damage from the effects of oxygen can present in the form of changes to flavour, colour, smell, texture, mould and spoilage.
Oxygen Absorbers trap oxygen. Given that air comprises 20% oxygen and 80% nitrogen, the absorber will remove the 20% of the atmosphere that is oxygen. The volume of nitrogen remaining results in the bag deflating though not to the extent the bag becomes hard or rigid.
Click here to go to our online tool to calculate how many oxygen absorbers will be needed.
Check out our complete range of oxygen absorbers or select a bundle and save when purchased together.
Pro-Ex Pouches and Oxygen Absorber bundles have been created assuming the bags are three quarters filled with low oxygen-content food such as jerky. We do suggest that you calculate your oxygen absorber needs using our online calculator. Consider also whether the intention is that the bag will be periodically opened and resealed, in which case we would recommend additional oxygen absorbers as new air is re-introduced each time.
There was nothing wrong with the bags. I’ve ordered the wrong size. I need bigger ones.
Good size. nice to be able to see the contents. My only negative is there doesn’t seem a huge amount of room above the zip for sealing , but I keep buying them 🙂
